SANTA ANA, CA — In a bombshell announcement, today former State Senator Lou Correa landed a high powered endorsement from House Democratic Whip and Congressman Steny Hoyer in his campaign to represent California’s 46th Congressional District.
In announcing his support of Correa, Democratic Whip and Congressman Steny Hoyer released the following statement: “I am proud to endorse former State Senator Lou Correa for U.S. Congress. For over 16 years, Lou represented the residents of Central Orange County, first as a state legislator and later as an Orange County Supervisor. He worked tirelessly to improve the lives of community members, build strong relationships with local leaders, and respond to the needs of his constituents. The June 7th election results only further prove that Lou’s indisputable record of delivering results to Orange County residents and his long history of serving local neighborhoods strongly resonates with the voters of the 46th Congressional District. Throughout his career, Lou has been a consensus builder, working across party lines to solve problems for his constituents. In the June 7th Primary Election, former Senator Correa was the top vote getter, capturing over 40,880 votes and 43.7% of the total votes cast. Combined, Correa’s votes equal almost three times as much as the second place finisher.
