Santa Ana, CA — Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez today announced her endorsement of Tustin City Councilwoman and Orange County Board of Education District 1 candidate Beckie Gomez.
“Councilwoman Gomez has a great record fighting for our school children,” Congresswoman Sanchez said. “Whether it’s been her work as President of the Tustin Public Schools Foundation or her leadership as Chair of the Orange County Library Advisory Board, she has the proven experience we need to ensure our students always have access to a top-quality education. I am pleased to endorse Beckie Gomez and support her in the June 7th Election.”
Beckie Gomez’s campaign has already received numerous endorsements from across the education community. Most notably, she has received the near unanimous support of local teachers and school employees. She has also received key support from local elected officials, women’s groups, and other organizations within the district.
“I’m honored to have the support of Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez in my race for County Board of Education,” said Gomez. “She has always been a champion for students and working families in Congress and I’m proud to stand with her on June 7th.”
“Our school children deserve someone on the board who will fight for them,” Gomez concluded. “I will listen to our parents, teachers, and community leaders to ensure that their voice is heard and I’ll bring more accountability and transparency to the board. It’s time for new leadership.”
The Orange County Board of Education District One includes the cities of Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and Tustin. The Election is on June 7th. Beckie Gomez is currently a Tustin City Councilwoman and has served the city since 2010.
