Santa Ana, Calif. – Former Congressman Jerry Patterson, who represented portions of California’s current 46th Congressional District, has endorsed Joe Dunn for this seat, announced the Dunn campaign.
“Joe has reformer roots and the track record of success helping the middle class,” said former Congressman Jerry Patterson. “I represented this community in Congress for a decade and fought through the gridlock. I know Joe Dunn is the best choice to challenge the Washington establishment and get results for our middle-class families.”
Mr. Patterson served as chairman of the Select Committee on Committee Reform and chaired the House Subcommittee on International Development Finance. He was also a distinguished member of the United States House Select Committee on Children, Youth, and Families. Mr. Patterson continues to be active in Orange County as a civic leader and small businessman.
Joe Dunn has thirty years of experience standing up to the establishment, and holding big corporations and government bureaucracies accountable to Orange County’s middle-class families. He’s empowered communities through the legal system to stop polluters and fought price-gouging drug companies. He investigated Enron and other unethical energy companies manipulating prices. He took on oil companies for ripping off consumers at the gas pumps and stood up to gun manufacturers to make our neighborhoods safer. Joe fought to secure millions of dollars from tobacco companies to be used for local health care services and community clinics. While heading the California Medical Association, Joe worked with physicians to help broaden access to affordable health care for Californians. Joe lives with his wife, Diane, in their Santa Ana home of nearly twenty years. They have two adult children, Sarah and John. California’s 46th congressional district includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange, and Santa Ana.

Jerry Patterson lost his congressional seat to Bob Dornan. He is another attorney.
Not the strongest endorsement, but I have told the Dunn campaign (and the Correa campaign and the Nguyen campaign) I would run their press releases.
Wow. I didn’t think he was alive anymore.
Elected FORTY years ago, out of office for thirty, I don’t how much weight this carries. Then again, Vern Nelson points out the usefulness (or lack thereof) of Correa’s endorsement from the Probation Officers endorsement (which is ironic on it’s face)?
I completely get Vern, Greg and Henry….errr Paul like Joe Dunn and Jeff and Ono like Bao Ngyuen (who DOES NOTeven live in the district) and others like Lou Correa.
But, here’s an idea: let the VOTERS IN THE 46TH decide. Maybe Vern can move and reregister AGAIN. Maybe Paul can petition to be eligable to vote (convicted felon still, right Henry,,,err Paul). Diamonds a lost cause and seems intent on taking down his brother(s) in law with him.
