A Double Blessing for the Holidays

TheLiberalOC is pleased to report that Nadia Davis Lockyer and her husband, former State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, welcomed twin boys into their family on December 8.

Harrison William Lockyer at 7:31pm, 5lbs 8oz, 18 inches; and Elijah Westwood Lockyer at 7:32pm, 5lbs 4oz, 16 1/2 inches.  Both boys are healthy and adorable; I won’t post their pictures here from Facebook, but friends can chime in to see a very happy family with two new precious gifts for the holidays.

We spoke with Nadia at a luncheon in Costa Mesa recently and while she can her husband selected the twins’ names, their oldest son Diego actually selected which child would receive which name.  It’s great to see this family that faced some tough times come through with something that binds them even closer together.

For Nadia, more good news from this week; she’s been added to the 2016 Board of Directors for the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association.  Here’s her announcement:

“I am proud and humbled to have learned last night that I was elected to serve on the 2016 Board of the Orange County Hispanic Bar Association – an entity that carries so much personal and professional significance. I look forward to supporting the organization’s scholarship and mentorship programs in particular, as well as hopefully establishing and expanding it’s non-profit/pro-bono partnerships to meet the needs of the community.”

Congratulations and warm wishes to the Lockyer’s.

  1. There is MUCH more to this story being reported in the San Jose Mercury News.
According to the story, things are not as “rosy” as her Facebook page portrays (now that she doesn’t post herself). Read the story and judge for yourself.

Twins are hard enough without addiction, memtal illness and a seventy year old Father. Good luck to those kids.

    • Carol —
Mercury News story I saw was from January; it’s December…how many months does it take to make a baby? As I said, they have had to overcome obstacles. Let’s be happy for everyone. Remember actor Tony Randall? He was 77 when he became a father for the first time. The only thing to say to both of them is congratulations…..

    • Mean- judgmental and mean. Why? If you want to go after truth, reflect on your own behavior- right here, right now.

      • Susan. I don’t dislike Nadia, Bill or wish ill upon them. But, with that being said, I will look deeply in the mirror. I don’t see myself EVER using Meth, narcotics, nor have I ever had an alcohol problem, so I can’t cment personally. I have also never held public office as the result of my spouse (who I believe to be hetro-sexual) dumping $1M into a campaign in a county where I never lived. My reflection does not divuldge my addiction causing me to abandon my Son either.

Here’s the deal. If Nadia was not married to Bill she’d be in a much different and darker place. FREE GOVERENT HEALTHCARE and a millionare powerful husband saved her.
Nine days before she announced her pregnancy with twins Nadia took to the internet and accused her husband of infidelity and was clearly “not right”. She is said to have sent multiple emails to people, highly critical of the husband. Now we need to say OK?

        God help yhose kids.

        • If “ifs and buts” we’re candy and nuts, it’d be Christmas everyday. Again, I saw them both in October. Very happy, very much together and caring about one another couple. The only people who matter in a marriage are the two people in it. I’d say the Lockyers will be just fine.

  2. Wishing much love to the Lockyer’s. You know what a marriage is? Two people who absolutely refuse to give up on one another. We don’t need any negativism to sully a blessed event.

  3. I just hope she’s doing better than last time I saw her and talked to her, at last December’s LULAC dinner.

    And stays better.

Yes, congratulations on the kids. And behave!
