Between a positive fundraising report and the announcement below of Congressional colleagues backing her for the US Senate seat, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez’s US Senate bid has regained its footing and is gaining significant ground on California AG Kamala Harris.
Here’s the announcement; the only non-surprise is the endorsement from Loretta’s sister, Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (sister’s are doing it for themselves).
Nine members of Congress endorse Loretta Sanchez for US Senate today. Those endorsing Sanchez for Senate are:
Congressman Pete Aguilar – Redlands
Congresswoman Lucille Roybal Allard – Los Angeles
Congressman Tony Cardenas – San Fernando Valley
Congresswoman Susan Davis – San Diego
Congresswoman Janice Hahn – San Pedro
Congressman Allen Lowenthal – Long Beach
Congresswoman Linda Sanchez – Whittier
Congresswoman Norma Torres – Pomona
Congressman Juan Vargas – San Diego
Congresswoman Janice Hahn said: “California working families need a strong voice in the US Senate. That’s why I am supporting Loretta Sanchez for US Senate. I have served with her and I know her record – from her courageous vote against the Iraq War, her leadership on immigration reform, and her experience on national security and economic fairness, we can count on Loretta.”
“Working with Loretta on the Armed Services Committee has taught me how to delve into issues of critical national security.” said Congresswoman Susan Davis. “I look to her for guidance in ensuring our men and women in uniform have what they need to fulfill their mission.” she added.
Congressman Pete Aguilar said: “We need a Senator who will work tirelessly to deliver results for California families. I’m supporting Loretta Sanchez for U.S. Senate because she has always been an advocate for working families and has a proven track record of getting things done.”
“I am so proud to have the endorsement of my colleagues in Congress with whom I work every day. These are among America’s most effective lawmakers and leaders in their local communities across California. I thank them for their confidence in my candidacy.” responded Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
