Hot off the press; news on Jay Chen’s candidacy for Mt. San Antonio Community College Board.  He ran for Congress a few years ago.

I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Mt. San Antonio College Board of Trustees, Area 5!   Serving Hacienda La Puente for two terms has been a great honor, and I’m proud of what has been accomplished.  We now have dual language immersion programs, a culinary school, and energy efficient buildings.  We helped create new parks and the beautiful Hacienda Heights Community Center.  Our students and schools continue to excel, while our finances remain strong.

I’m excited to bring this experience and energy to Mt. SAC, which is the best community college in California, serving over 50,000 students.  Besides outstanding athletic programs, it boasts unique classes in aviation and horticulture.  Most importantly, it’s the #1 destination for students from Hacienda La Puente, and I plan to build stronger ties between the two districts.

Trustee Area 5 overlaps with my current board seat, so while my responsibilities will be different, the community I serve will be the same.  Nevertheless I must run a strong race.

The election is less than five months away, can you help me launch it today with a contribution of $100, $50 or $15? And if you are in Los Angeles, please join me at my kickoff event on July 16th at New Capital Seafood in Rowland Heights.  Thank you for your support, and for participating in the Democratic process.  It’s what led to affordable health care and marriage equality this week.
