Today is Inauguration Day for California’s state-wide Constitutional Officers. The most significant, the inauguration of Governor Jerry Brown to an unprecedented fourth term as Governor. Governor Brown will be inaugurated in the State Capitol. Outside, after the inauguration, workers from Orange County will hold the second “People’s Inauguration” celebration.

On Monday, Jan. 5, workers will hold an inauguration party for Gov. Jerry Brown at the Capitol with free hot dogs, celebrating the governor’s re-election with a party open to all.
The event, dubbed the “The People’s Inauguration,” is hosted by the Orange County Employees Association, California Labor Federation and other partners.
For the second time, the Orange County Employees Association will be driving its famous hot dog wagon to the Capitol to serve hot dogs to any member of the public who comes down and wants to celebrate. OCEA’s hot dog wagon commemorated the Governor’s inauguration in 2011, as well.
Traditionally, inaugurations are exclusive events designed for insiders, lobbyists and politicians. This inauguration party is a testament to Brown’s lifelong commitment to representing the interests of all the residents of California.
“During his last inauguration, Gov. Brown came out and shared a hot dog with the people he represents, right in the middle of the crowd,” OCEA General Manager Nick Berardino says. “It’s inspiring that he stands with all the people – especially all of us in the cheap seats.”

Lucky Californians. You’ve (again) been spared. Just look next door and be grateful Janet Nguyen is being relegated to the insignificant minority. Just make sure certain “Mod Squad” Democrats don’t give them more power than they deserve.
