No, this post is not about who you might think. Despite false and misleading rumors, Dr. Jose F. Moreno is not a part of Team Tait and is running his own campaign. We are talking about Dr. Roberto Baeza, who is a disgruntled ex-principal in Anaheim City School District and a current candidate for Anaheim Union High School District Board of Education, Area 2. This race has four candidates, all Latino, three are registered Democratic, including Dr. Baeza.

If the name sounds familiar, that is because Dr. Roberto Baeza was a principal at Benito Juarez Elementary School who was transferred to Palm Lane Elementary School and later demoted after, it is rumored, he was caught working with Republican Senator Bob Huff and Union Busting pseudo-Democrat Gloria Romero to make Palm Lane into a corporate run charter school that Baeza would head up. He is also an appointee of Councilwoman Kris Murray’s to the Library Board.
Throughout his campaign, Dr. Baeza has been vague on where he stands on the issues. Rumors are circulating that he is running simply to “stick it” to Dr. Jose F. Moreno and other progressives in the city. Another candidate running alongside Dr. Baeza is Esther Castillo, who is a candidate for the Anaheim City School District. Both pulled papers on the last day of filing and were seen walking in and leaving the Registrar of Voters together.
In the OC Register, Gloria Romero has been writing editorials, here and here, portraying Dr. Baeza as some sort of martyr and making it clear that Baeza and Castillo are out to radically transform the school district and harm the working families who are employed by the school district.
Recently, Councilwoman Kris Murray has joined Romero, Senator Huff and radical homophobe Robert Hammond in going to ACSD meetings and claiming Dr. Jose F. Moreno is trying to harm parents. Baeza and Castillo have previously denied being a part of this effort. Now we know otherwise. Here are pictures, obtained by The Liberal OC, that show Dr. Baeza is proudly a part of a slate with Mayoral candidate and professional foot-in-mouther , death “is a good outcome” for criminal suspects, Lucille Kring and Council incumbents Gail “thank God for the riots” Eastman and Kris Murray.
In fact Dr. Baeza has announced that, along with ACSD candidate Esther Castillo, they will be canvasing in a precinct walk with Kring, Eastman and Murray. We would expect that support from this camp comes with strings attached. It is reasonable for Anaheim voters to wonder of Dr. Baeza, what strings are attached this support?

Recently, Esther Castillo has incorporated a page from SAUSD candidate Valerie Amezcua’s campaign and made the “schools not prison” platform as part of her campaign message. We wonder, how can a candidate claim they want to end the schools to prison pipeline and support three candidates for Anaheim Mayor and Council whose policies and actions have been perceived as making the schools to prison pipeline stronger among Anaheim’s youth.
These realities demonstrate the need for voter awareness that there are some bad Democrats with a Republican agenda out there. Castillo and Baeza are an example of this. Any Democrat who would openly campaign with Kring, Eastman and Murray needs to be called out for what they are, a Democrat in Name Only.

Baeza’s embrace of Kring and co. is certainly lamentable. That said, the manner in which the Board handled Latino parents in 2013 and 2014 remains so as well. All you have for Castillo is a Facebook tag. Perhaps an erudite Latina that isn’t part of the Moreno clique is what really frightens you/them.
Gabriel,
The problem, is that these two supposed Democrats are parading around with the White Republicans who are significantly responsible for the failures of Anaheim to provide for the needs of its Latino/Latina residents. If you want more of the same, then by all means, stick with the Kring, Murray, Eastman gang and continue on with more disparity in city services as well as education.
I’ve asked Gustavo before and now I will ask you; which Latino/a political leader do you actually admire or even like in Anaheim?
Or better still – who would you like to see elected in Anaheim? Fair question. Or instead will you just sit back and criticize anyone who is elected?
Meanwhile, a 9 year old girl was killed in a drive by shooting in Anaheim last night. Will the people rise up to condemn gang violence? Innocents are dying in the crossfire.
Do you recognize the racism in your last paragraph? The fact that I have to pose the question means you don’t. It’s that same nonsense as when the Black community decries a death by cop and white folks say “why aren’t you hollering about Blacks killing Blacks.” Tired script.
Re-read what I wrote. I didn’t identify the 9 year old girl by race at all. Only her age. I asked when will the people rise up and condemn gang violence. I used the word “Innocents” with no regard to race.
Re-read what I wrote. I didn’t insert a single racial term into my statement at all — but that’s all you saw.
So when a 9 year old girl is dead because of a drive by shooting — not from a cop — but from someone who fired three bullets and sped off, all you can see if racism and not a crime to be condemned?
Have some compassion for the parents of a nine year old girl who was doing nothing but playing outside with friends. News reports say her father was cradling her and shouting to God to let her live.
How about some condemnation for the people who shot her while trying to shoot someone else? And perhaps you don’t see the racism in your own statement?
It’s always laughable to have an out-of-town idiot like Dan lecture lifelong Anaheimers about what’s right and wrong in our hometown and what to do. And when the out-of-towner is a patronizing fool who only pays attention when it suits his favored candidates? Vomit-inducing. Dan: Keep to Irvine, where your screeds at least have the element of hilarity; every time you write about Anaheim, it just shows you’re almost as bad as your good pal Matty.
HEY PENDEJO! Read who wrote it, THE LIBERAL OC, not Dan C. Did you not notice it bashes Kris Murray and points out Dr. Baeza is playing footsies with the same people you have accused Dan of playing footsie with? SO Dan sticks up for the Pringle folks, you get mad, the blog finally bashes the Pringle folks and you still get mad. WHICH IS IT BABOSO!
While we are on the subject of your hero Baeza, lets dig into his past for a minute. He was Jordan Brandman’s hand picked successor for the seat on the AUHSD, which he failed to get appointed to. Yet that does not seem to bother you. Baeza was appointed two commissions by Councilwoman Kris Murray, another person you claim to dislike, and yet that does not raise red flags with you. All you see is Dr. Moreno, who you dislike for not kissing your ass, dislikes Dr. Baeza. Nevermind all the red flags that the stunts at Juarez and Palm Lane are likely the stunts of Pringle, Brandman and Murray. Pinche estupido! Try and figure out what is really going on in our community instead of spouting of your mouth.
Meh.
Congratulations on your move from Santa Ana to Anaheim.
So a 9 year old girl is shot and killed from a drive by shooting and I ask if the people will condemn gang violence and you want to debate right versus wrong?
And when you write about Irvine, I have a good laugh too; then again, it’s almost impossible to find the Weekly in my city.
Don’t pretend to care about tragedies that happen in my city—actually, do, because you inevitably tie it to your political crushes or your bogeymen, showing how craven you truly are.
As for the Weekly in Irvine: That’s funny, I show dozens of places on my circulation sheet right now. But you telling the truth on anything is about as likely as the Angels winning the World Series under Arte Moreno. How is that championship team going, by the way?
You have two residencies? One in Anaheim and one in Santa Ana? The Weekly pays better than I thought.
I totally feel for the parents of the nine year old who was shot and killed. When you are a parent, you will more than understand how devastating this news is. And where exactly in my comment did I tie this into any candidate? But thanks for the idea for a new post. But what this really is on your part is projection about your political bogeymen.
Your comments and GSRs comments make you look like you’re defending the shooters. It’s an absolute refusal to condemn an act of violence or worse, to excuse it. So much easier for you and GSR to cry “racist” when not a word of ethnic origin was used.
The Weekly in Irvine? Wahoo’s, Barnes & Noble, Irvine City Hall….OC Metros and OC Family is everywhere.
As far as the Angels go, a disappointing end to a great season. Best record in baseball. Big Mike is the AL Manager of the Year; Trout likely to be MVP. Bullpen is much improved. There’s always room for improvement but as A’s and Orioles also discovered, the hot team always wins over the best team. The team gave fans their money’s worth this season. I’ll note the World Series pits two wild card teams, so it just shows you baseball is an interesting game.
“And where exactly in my comment did I tie this into any candidate?”
You tried to. Right on the heels of the murder as the ghetto bird whirled above, in fact. The only reason you didn’t tie this to any candidate is because the one you approached was smart enough to ignore your nonsense!
you all have reading comprehension issues; appreciate the accusations but do you put every bit of research into your stories?
Esther Castillo has kind eyes.
both of you should keep the angels out of your petty little catfight.
which Angel? The 9 year old who was shot in a drive by or the guys in white outfits who play baseball?
Dan, you are so clueless and insensitive, you make your teddy-bear sacrificing BFF look like an ambassador of kindness.
THE REASON YOUR DEMAND OF GUSTAVO AND GABRIEL IS RACIST is that you’re only asking them because they’re LATINOS FROM ANAHEIM. You the white faux-liberal from Irvine have suddenly decreed that Anaheim Latinos have to jump through your hoop to prove that they don’t condone gang-on-gang violence. It’s offensive that you even suggest anybody DOES.
We can only imagine the mental contortions you’ve been going through since last night, trying to figure out how to use this tragedy to help Lorri and attack the Mayor. Come up with anything yet?
I swear to God, every week you find a new level to descend to. Where will it end?
Vern: Thank you for your adult perspective, something that Dan sorely needs to regain…
A 9 year old girl is dead. I am sure her parents could care less about who will be the next mayor of Anaheim or about racism. I only asked Gustavo and GSR which Anaheim candidates they liked.
Oh.
Did you think you erased parts of your comments up above?
Cuz you didn’t.
Re-read my very first comment Vern. The first two paragraphs. Asked and still unanswered due to perceived racism.
Actually, I’ve answered this question in other venues that deserved the dignity of a response—you can look it up. But in typical Dan fashion, you quickly moved from actual discussion to bigoted demonizing by insinuating that Anaheim Latinos aren’t up in arms about Ximena’s death. Does a packed community center count? Oh, wait: no, since Tait was there and Lorri wasn’t there to lead it. You’re simply vile.
This is how I feel every time Dan comments.
http://youtu.be/tbd4t-ua-WQ
I feel the same way when Ryan Cantor comments on anything 😉
Strongly enough to send a package of all his comments, anonymously, to his employer, in the hopes he’d get fired? I know, you’ll say that wasn’t you. But in any case it didn’t work, Ryan does such a good job, his employer enjoyed the comments, and thinks whoever sent the package (anonymously as “Arte Skadoosh”) is a dick.
Sorry to disappoint but it wasn’t me; was the package a t-shirt? Ask Sean Mill. But then again, I know who AnaheimRevenger is ….
Arte Skadoosh…that’s funny
I spoke with Dr. Moreno last night and he told me about the community meeting and that he’d be attending. Tait was there; good, he should be. If Lorri were there, you’d say it was for political purposes and not out of real concern. I am delighted the meeting was packed. Dr. Moreno and I great discussion about how the school district’s team responded to the shooting to aid the kids and the teachers. Not that you’d give him any credit for it. Then again, no matter what decision anyone makes, you’ll criticize it.
You wrote a story about it a couple of years ago; not a single political figure made your “Best of” list this year. Please don’t make the assumption I track your every utterance. I don’t
Vern read the actual post itself. Not written by Dan. It is going after two pseudo-dems who are campaigning with the very people we have been attacking. Yet Gabriel and Gustavo are also supporting these pseudo-dems and thanks to their grudge match, helping to strengthen the Pringle/Murray axis. Don’t join in the hijacking of this thread. Read the actual post and give thoughts on that.
Actually, vendido, Dan hijacked the post all by himself by bringing up Ximena’s murder for no reason whatsoever. And if you think Dan wasn’t behind this post (Chris has shown little, if any, interest in Anaheim politics), then it shows how little you actually read this blog—and reveals you’re even more of a Moreno plant than I figured you to be.
Please thank Matt Coker for providing GoFundMe link to pay for the girl’s funeral expenses.
I liked the post, Anaheim Latino, and props to whoever wrote it. Wish I knew who they were, I probly know ’em. I can tell it’s not Dan, and I don’t think Chris is that knowledgeable on Anaheim though I could be wrong. I was the first blogger attacking Baeza, over a year ago, and got a lotta grief for that from G&G. http://www.orangejuiceblog.com/2013/07/what-was-the-big-deal-about-some-principal-getting-transferred-from-one-anaheim-school-to-another/
But like Gustavo said, Dan hijacked the thread for his own purposes, and we’re all responding to that.
Just had to blogwhore over here Vern…didn’t you?
Hey oaf, my familiarity with the Baeza situation was being challenged. In no way is proving my familiarity with the situation any sort of “whoring” though you love to say that word.
there are lots of things about you that are challenging Vern.
Why … thank you! I guess.
Thanks Vern. Spot on. Too bad Dan C is too much of a hack to see his own tomfoolery.
it’ll end when cheminowski reverses his gastric bypass surgery and is able to once again eat whole chickens at 2 am. and you know damn well who I meant.
Hey guys, Lorri is not happy with me right now because the cops came out to stop me from beating up my neighbor. Erroneously acused him of taking our signs down and threatened him. Now I am getting counseling for my panger issues from Stephanie the mail order pastor and Lorri’s campaign coup afvisor. We are such a loving family and love to help the less fortunate by being such friendly neighbors.
