Bruno the injured police dog to retire. Lucille, please follow his lead.

We read in the Orange County Register that the Anaheim canine police officer named Bruno, who was shot by a suspect who was subsequently shot and killed by police officers, is retiring because of his injuries. We would like to take this opportunity to suggest that rather than running for mayor, that Anaheim council member Lucille Kring follow Bruno into retirement.

Senate Republicans block minimum wage increase on eve of World Labor Day

While working men and women across the United States and the world prepared to recognize World Labor Day, Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would have gradually increased the minimum wage in the U.S. to $10.10 an hour. The legislation fell six votes shy of the 60 needed for it to advance to a formal vote in the Senate, 54-42.
