WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-46) on Thursday released the following statement in response to news that Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis will step down from her post at the Department of Labor.
“Hilda Solis is an extremely effective Secretary of Labor who I’m also proud to call a friend,” said Sanchez. “She has been a vigorous advocate for our nation’s working men and women, and a trailblazer as the first Latina to head a major federal agency. I enjoyed serving with her in the House and working with her as Secretary of Labor. I know her work at the Labor Department will have a lasting effect and I look forward to many bright things to come from her.”
