Panic in Bushalaton; Flory Pulls Ahead of Kiger for Fullerton City Council

Former Fullerton council member Jan Flory has pulled ahead of Council member Travis Kiger as the counting of ballots winds down which is surely cause for panic among the FFFF blog.  As of tonight, Flory holds the final council slot by just four votes at 12,670 to Kiger’s 12,666.

Claudio Gallegos, our former blogger who crunches ballot numbers as well as anyone in Orange County, tells us based on the outstanding ballots and the trending results, Flory’s lead should hold and she’ll likely defeat Kiger for that last spot.  Should Flory win, the party preference for the Fullerton City Council would be 3-2 Republican, but 3-2 anti-Bushala.  Council member Bruce Whitaker is more likely concerned with finding new employment as Fullerton Mayor Sharon Quirk-Silva increased her lead over State Rep. Chris Norby to more than 3,000 votes.

Our sources tell us the Kiger watchers at the ROV are a nervous bunch and unintentional comedy for others assembled.

Should Kiger lose, he’ll likely set a record in Orange County for the city council member with the shortest term of service.

  1. Boo-hoo.

Word is Kiger didn’t work very hard, relying on Bushala IEs to re-elect him. If Kiger loses it by a few votes, it’s on him. Walking precicnts and personally asking voters for their support would have helped.

So much for the power of the mighty FFFF blog!
