The folllowing press release came across my desk this morning from the Orange City Firefighters Association:

ORANGE – The Orange City Firefighters Association announced today that they have chosen to endorse Orange City Councilwoman Teresa “Tita” Smith for Mayor this November. They are also supporting local businessmen Mark Murphy and Mike Alvarez for the two upcoming vacancies on the Orange City Council. Both previously served on the Council.
“Tita Smith is a lifelong Orange resident who has dedicated most of her adult life to assisting the City, its residents, and business community,” said Greg Lewin, President of the Orange City Firefighters Association. “She is a proven leader who will work hard to support public safety and fight to protect the taxpayers of Orange. We are honored to support her.”
“Mark Murphy and Mike Alvarez are also lifelong residents of Orange and successful local businessmen,” continued Lewin. “They will bring extensive experience, knowledge, and a private sector acumen to the Council. True assets to our community, we are excited they have both chosen to run again for the Orange City Council.”
The Orange City Firefighters Association represents the City of Orange’s 115 firefighters and paramedics. Founded in 1905, the Fire Department provides a wide array of services to the residents and business community of Orange, including pre-hospital emergency medical care and transportation, urban search and rescue, hazardous materials first response, terrorism first response, fire and safety inspections, and fighting fires.
