Charlotte, NC – To help get the word out about the unprecedented livestream coverage of the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, today Obama for America released a new promotional video featuring President Obama and actors Kal Penn and John Cho for “Live From Charlotte,” a web-only convention special that will be hosted by Penn on Thursday, September 6th at 8:00 pm EDT.Yesterday, the DNCC announced its plans for gavel-to-gavel livestream coverage of the convention – one of the many innovative ways that that the campaign is engaging voters from across the country in President Obama’s vision for moving America forward, building an economy from the middle out, not the top down, and making this year’s convention the most open and accessible in history.
In the video, President Obama calls Penn to remind him of the stakes of his host duties on Thursday night, saying “Just remember that I’m trusting you on this and I’ll see you there.” The “Live from Charlotte” programming will include interviews with campaign officials and special guests, including Marc Anthony, Elizabeth Banks, Aisha Tyler, Olivia Wilde, Fran Drescher, Zach Braff and Alexis Bledel.
