In an email to supporters yesterday, Assemblyman Jose Solorio announced his political plans for the future as his term in the Assembly expires at the end of the year. He’s running for a seat on the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees, District 1.

“As you know, education has always been a priority of mine. It’s been the key to my success,” Solorio wrote. “A quality college education is what has given me and countless others the opportunity to reach our dreams. It’s also why I started our Solorio Scholars program. Our community colleges are a vital part of our system of higher education.

“If elected this November to our local Community College Board, I will continue to fight to keep Santa Ana College and the rest of the district accessible and affordable.”

In May, the Rancho Santiago Community College District Trustees established new district lines creating seven (7) individual districts replacing the existing three (3) areas which were elected on an at-large basis. Only voters living in an individual district will be able to vote for their trustee. Districts 1 and 3 have no incumbent trustee and are therefore open seats.

  1. Don’t worry OC guy! For betraying the residents of the 69th by bringing forth his replacement, Tom daly, he will get what he serves. Tom Daly is someone who helped appoint Harald Martin to the Anaheim parks and rec commitee. Tom Daly allowed Harald Martin to harass and intimidate Latino going to the neighborhood committee meetings. Under Tom Daly leadership his police chief kept an illegal avtivist that kept tabs on Latino activist, like Amin David. They city lost that case. He did not allow a Hispanic market in a Hispanic Neihbordhood. Worst part, tom Daly allowed for the terrorist harassing Anaheim PD to discriminate against latino youth.
