We received the following press release yesterday from Bob Rush, the only Democratic running in the 74th Assembly Race. This is the contest which includes candidates Leslie Daigle and Assemblyman Allan Mansoor.
Irvine (CA) — Bob Rush, candidate for the new 74th Assembly District announced today that his candidacy has been endorsed by the Laguna Woods Democratic Club.
“We are proud to endorse Bob Rush for the State Assembly,” said Linda Nearing, President of the Laguna Woods Democratic Club. “We need a strong leader in Sacramento who is willing to work with all parties to find real solutions to the enormous problems facing our state and we believe Bob Rush is that person.”
“I am truly honored to have the endorsement of the Laguna Woods Democratic Club,” said Rush. “Their support is a major boost to my campaign and we will go on to win in November.”
Rush, owner of US Realty Group Commercial Real Estate Brokerage and an accountant, is a 25 year Newport Beach resident and active in his community. He is running as a Democrat in the June 5th election for the 74th Assembly District. Isn’t Rush the only Dem running in this district? I guess it’s at least good to see Dems start to coalesce around him. It’s probably still a long shot for Dems, but IMHO it’s winnable under the right circumstances. And considering the two far right R’s duking it out here (Mansoor & Daigle) and Obama’s likely strong CA win (meaning he’ll win AD 74 again), the right circumstances may now be developing.
