The Orange County Professional Firefighters Association have decided to endorse Tm Daly for Assembly after endorsing Labor Activist Julio Perez earlier this month.  Here’s the press release that explains it all.  Dual endorsements in this race are all over the place from Assembly Jose Solorio’s dual endorsement of Daly and Santa Ana council member Michele Martinez to other politicos offering a two-fer.

SANTA ANA – Orange County Clerk-Recorder (and former Anaheim Mayor) Tom Daly announced today that the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association (OCPFA) has endorsed his campaign for State Assembly.  The organization represents over 900 firefighters, providing service to 24 different cities in Orange County, including Santa Ana.

“Tom Daly is a strong advocate for public safety,” said Tony Bedolla, Political Affairs Director for the County Firefighter Association.  “With his extensive experience as Mayor of Anaheim and Orange County Clerk-Recorder, we believe he will hit the ground running in Sacramento, having an immediate impact representing us and Orange County in the State Legislature.”

“I am honored to have earned the support of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association,” said Tom Daly.  “The service they provide our community is truly invaluable.  I look forward to working with them to make public safety a top priority in the State Assembly.”

Daly’s campaign for the 69th State Assembly District in central Orange County has been endorsed by a broad coalition of local community leaders, business leaders, and elected officials, including State Assemblyman Jose Solorio, who currently represents the Assembly District but is termed out and cannot seek re-election.

Daly has served as Orange County’s Clerk-Recorder since 2002.  He previously served as the directly elected Mayor of Anaheim for ten years.  The 69th State Assembly District includes portions of the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange, and Santa Ana.
