Thief Makes Off with Councilwoman’s Bike

Last week, Americans were shocked to learn that Supreme Court Justice Stephen Bryar was robbed by a machete-wielding intruder at his Nevis vacation home in the Caribbean. But crime clearly doesn’t respect judges or elected officials in America’s fourth safest city (according to Forbes Magazine).  Santa Ana Council member Michele Martinez, a candidate for state assembly, reported on her Facebook page that her bike was stolen from her car over the weekend.

From the page, which we’ve copied exactly:

Michele Martinez
I can’t believe someone stoled my bike from my bike rack on my car. My bike was locked and secured. I loved my road bike very much. I hope who ever took it really needed the money .

Since the councilwoman won’t return any of our calls, we’ve contacted the Santa Ana Police Department and they have no information to share about the bike’s theft.  If anyone has information about the bike, please call them at 714-834-4211.

    • The people of North Santa Ana are not anti-bike. They are the voice of reason in protecting private property rights, and are pro-creek and nature preservation.

  1. You mean there’s still crime in Santa Ana? I thought they stopped taking phone calls and writing reports years ago to wipe out crime completely.

Well, I guess they have to let a little go here and there to make their stats look realistic.

  2. You know, having read this story again it’s even worse than I thought. There’s no use asking the SAPD for help. You’re better off going directly to Facebook to help solve a crime in Santa Ana. Even a city Councilwoman knows that probably from her insider experience.
