Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang, who steered the city of Irvine through the toughest economy in decades and emerged with a $20 million reserve without cutting services or laying off employees, will formally launch his bid for Congress in CD-45 this coming Saturday.
Volunteers will gather at 20 Lake Road in Irvine from noon to 1:30 to organize phone banks, knock on doors or serve as precinct captains. For more details, send email to info@KangforCongress.com or call 949-415-VOTE.
Kang has spent the past several months in fundraising mode. His race for Congress is garnering significant media coverage in Korea. He is the first Korean American mayor of a major city in the United States and Irvine has made the FBI’s list for safest city in the US in all four years he has served as mayor.
