Irvine Celebrates 40th Birthday with a Reception at City Hall Tonight

The City of Irvine is not your average 40 year old.  And while the city’s official Birthday is December 28, city leaders and neighbors will gather and celebrate with a reception at City Hall tonight beginning at 5PM.

Now the third largest city in Orange County, Irvine’s local economy and school district are among the best in the county.  The city is the safest city in the US for the past seven years in a row, one of the greenest cities in the US, regularly ranked in the top 40 on best places to live or raise children by a host of publications, and is easily one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in Orange County if not the state.

I encourage you to visit the city’s 40th anniversary web page for a photo collage of the City’s history over the years.  The city has a promising future as more homes are being built, new schools being planned and the Great Park development moving forward.
