IPSF Announces Golf Tournament

TheLiberalOC is a pro-education blog and we’re for any organization that helps fund things like science, art, and music in our schools.  For kids in Irvine, IPSF is a Godsend.

Here’s some news to share about their latest fundraiser.

The Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) today announced that noted professional long driver Jeff Farley will use his skills to help raise funds at the Inaugural IPSF Golf Tournament at Strawberry Farms on May 12.

IPSF announced that Irvine BMW has signed on as the event’s title sponsor with Supreme Fitness, Oakley, Honeybaked Hams, and Leisure Capital Investments joining the tournament as key sponsors.  The tournament recognizes the contributions made by IPSF Legacy Partners to the schoolchildren of Irvine.

“The IPSF Legacy Partners Initiative recognizes the dedication and commitment of major individual donors who want to support Irvine schools at a significant level,” said Neda Zaengle, CEO, IPSF.  “We’re delighted with the support we have received for this event from our sponsors and their continued commitment to helping Irvine’s schools.”

The event begins with a VIP reception for Legacy Partners and is followed by a dinner and silent auction for all golfers and their guests.  Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang and the entire Irvine City Council will be in attendance, as will Assemblyman Don Wagner (AD-70) and members of the IUSD School Board and the outgoing and incoming Superintendents of IUSD.

Jeff Farley, one of professional golf’s premiere long drivers, will be making an appearance at the tournament and will help raise money for IPSF by giving golfers the chance to use his drive at their hole.

Money raised from the tournament will be used to provide financial support and enrichment programs, including art, music, science and technology, to the 27,000 students of IUSD.

Zaengle said IPSF is still seeking additional corporate sponsorships for the event and auction.  The tournament itself is limited to 144 golfers with each participant receiving a free pair of Oakley sunglasses. For questions or additional information, or to sponsor, please contact IPSF at (949) 265-6409 or go to www.IPSF.net.

Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) provides financial support and enrichment programs for the students of the Irvine Unified School District.  IUSD public schools are among the best in the nation with most of the district’s schools recognized as California Distinguished Schools and National Blue Ribbon Schools.  Those honors could never be achieved without active support from the community.  IPSF engages the participation of our entire community – local businesses and corporations, parents, and community leaders, to keep IUSD moving forward, not backwards.  From its inception as a grassroots organization IPSF’s focus is to be the pillar of support for all 27,000 IUSD students, K-12.
