OC BoS Bill Campbell posted these terrible photos (terrible as in overexposed, out of focus, etc) on his website for the Amante fundraiser. So there are more people there than we thought, but I’m not buying Matt Cunningham’s argument that the event was packed or the lot was full. The room must be too big. What we do see in the photos are a lot of people who don’t live in Tustin: Chuck DeVore, Dick Ackerman to name a couple. And a lot of lobbyists and long time Amante supporters. Missing from the fundraiser; average Tustin citizens.
In an orchestrated show of support at Tuesday’s Tustin City Council meeting, Mayor Jerry Amante tempered his service with a petition of recall by grassroots Tustin citizens with a host of elected and appointed officials and Republican allies falling over themselves to lavish praise on the Mayor and to call shame on those who dare challenge Amante.
There’s support and then there’s support.
The Mayor held a fundraiser at the Tustin Ranch Golf Center Wednesday night; at 7PM, our sources counted seven cars in the parking lot. The folks at the Golf Center “wouldn’t confirm or deny” that the event wasn’t well attended when we spoke to them by phone this morning.
Now we’ll concde it’s possible that the cars were clown cars each carrying dozens of Amante supporters, or that people couldn’t attend by forwarded checks. Possible, but unlikely.
So less than 24 hours after being served with a recall petition, seven cars — one for the event organizer and one for Amante at a minimum — show up for a fundraiser for an embattled mayor who can only hope that grassroots volunteers can’t get 7,000+ signatures for the recall; who’s going to eat all that shrimp?
Note: For those employees at Tustin City Hall, what are you doing on my business website when you should be working?
Let’s see… one was Amante’s, one was Murray and one for Nielsen.. that is, unless, they rode together. Is that what you meant by clown car? One of them for sure was Chuck Devore who assured me by twitter that it was the issues, not the man. Oh yeah, Biggs for sure. Gotta throw that consultant money around because he can live off his fat pension check. Well, the others are a mystery. Now, where is that recall petition, Deborah?

Recalls are not real until they qualify for the ballot – therefore, little threat – little response.

speaking of fraud, when are you guys going to give us an update on the lawsuit against Mr. Born Again Fraud Art Peddrozzabot is obviosuly Mayor Quimby. Why don’t you call those idiots out on it over there.
