The campaign finance filing for Mayor Pulido indicates that his campaign consultant Dennis DeSnoo paid Art Pedroza $5,150 for “web services.” Apparently Pulido had no problem paying Pedroza for positive blog coverage leading up to the election so long as that information was not disclosed until after Election Day. Art Pedroza, of course, appears to have had no problem failing to disclose that he was being paid by Pulido for his commentary.

The January 2011 Jobs Report was released on Friday indicating that the unemployment rate dropped down to 9 percent, which is four-tenths of a percent less than last month and the lowest level since April 2009. In addition, the economy added 36,000 private sector jobs.

On Tuesday, the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance to require the registration of individuals who engage in lobbying activities before the County of Orange. Specifically “lobbying activities” means any oral, written, or electronic communication to a County Supervisor, made directly or indirectly, for the purpose of persuading or influencing official actions or decisions of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
