Santa Ana’s New Transparency – So Clear You Can’t Even Find History

Okay, maybe it’s a technical issue, but I just about spit out my coffee this morning when I went to look up the Council Meeting Minutes from this past summer where the city made changes to the One Broadway Plaza Development Agreement. The records are not available. They once were there, now they are not. In fact, the records of the agendas and minutes only are available through October 18, 2010. Anything earlier, the records are missing.

I figure they’ll be located eventually and reposted to the city website. This kind of reminds me of the hoops people have to go through to figure out when or where the City Council is holding their meetings. It’s a game I like to call “Wack-a-Meeting.”

  1. There is yet another item nagging at the back of my memory. A number of us involved with Measure A agree the we remember that Harrah was required to pay for referendum. We also believe that he has not done so. Dan is it possible for you to find the answer to that.
    TYIA

    • Better than Santa Ana; even Gustavo called it a “Banana Republic” on KOCE and he live in Santa Ana

  2. And just how do you propose that they pay for that? With these tough economic times the city might have to cut some waste like paying councilmembers $ 6000 a year for a car allowance. Or god forbid they take away the $ 5460 cash out option that most of the council takes in leiu of medical benefits.

  3. Good news – I am banned from commenting on Art Pedroza’s new blog “New Santa Ana.” But I still want to make disparaging and witty comments about he and SM.

So I have a request Dan – may I make random and off-topic comments concerning that blog (I call it Spew Santa Ana) and those two “gentlemen”?

    I’ll start with this one:
Pedroza is putting forward the proposition that attendees at Santa Ana City Council meetings should be scanned for weapons.

I think that Pedroza should be CT scanned to confirm that he has lost his mind.

  4. Sorry junior,

Random off topic comments about AP and SM kind of violate our terms of use. However in this case you’re in luck. Since a CT scan of Art’s head would result in a transparent image, and the post is about transparency and the Santa Ana City Council, your comment is related sufficiently to the topic to be allowed. 🙂

  5. FYI Gustavo has lived in SA for over 2 years now…& What difference does it make, the truth is the the regardless where you liv

    • Really? Gustavo always talks about being an Anaheim resident. FYI – It is an opinion espoused, not the truth.

  6. Actually, I live in a PO Box in Anaheim, but who cares where I live? SanTana politics are corrupt to the core–been saying it for years, but now everyone else is finally noticing!

    • More like who cares what you think…You get paid to write outrageous bullshit and if you were praising SanTana it wouldn’t attract your base. Being a contrarian is your schtict.

      • For a person commenting anonymously you sure have no problem squeezing b.s. out of your tail-pipe. At least Gustavo has no problem putting his signature on his opinions. More than can be said for you.

        • You seem to champion the bullshit spewed by anonymous commenters that you agree with or who attack those that you don’t like. Spare me the sanctimonious act Prevatt.

  7. Ooo, the nails come out! Bring it, son: I chew up trolls like you in my sleep. Just thank your lucky stars I can’t go at your beloved Don Papi full force–but there are others…

    • Gustavo I am not impressed by your bullshit. You talk a good game. If you have the goods on Pulido let’s see them. Otherwise I’ll just assume this is more of the same from you.

  8. People are coming to realize that the lack of transparency is simply the norm in Santa Ana government. It is only when pressed…ONLY WHEN PRESSED…or when their hubris hits the press…does the Council and Mayor make token moves to promote transparency. When the hub-bub dies down, it’s back to business as usual.
