I wrote yesterday of what appears to be a twist on pay to play inflicted upon the residents of Santa Ana by Councilman Sal Tinajero. As his mouth piece Art Pedroza wrote Monday afternoon, it is probably likely that the votes are in place for the appointment of Sean H. Mill as a Planning Commissioner to go through tonight.
“… he already has enough support on the Council to be put on the Planning Commission. This effort to derail the appointment will go nowhere.”
Pedroza’s probably right. But the only way I figure he could know this is if at least four members of the Santa Ana City Council violated the Brown Act by reaching consensus before the meeting and shared that information with him or Mill. Not all that surprising really, as Carlos Bustamante told Voice of OC’s Adam Elmahrek a few weeks ago, “they have side meetings all the time.”
But just so that everyone knows exactly the small caliber individual the Council is willing to scrape from the bottom of a barrel to appoint, I have pulled the following from our post about Sean Mill “in his own words.”
Sean uses a number of ways to communicate what many consider to be threatening messages including emails and text messages. It’s hard to distinguish the person who professes to want to improve Santa Ana with a person acting like a schoolyard bully.
We decided to allow Sean’s words to speak for themselves. Here are statements from e-mails and text messages that detail his outrageous stunts and allow you to decide whether or not this was behavior becoming of a Planning Commissioner for the City of Santa Ana. The messages were received by Claudio Gallegos, Chris Prevatt, Phil Baccera and even Matt Cunningham. Our apologies for the language.
No “threats” here Matt. You should just stick to fucking with the payaso’s you’re used to fucking with.
One day your mouth is gonna write a check your ass can’t cash. Play the kiddie games with Art and the rest of them. I don’t have time for the shenanigans.
You sure are quick to call the police. I guess that’s because you are a “pussyâ€.
I see u and the other losers behind Pedrozabot like posting photos of Hoa’s campaign workers. Maybe they should stop by and see you so you can take a new photo
Hey Matt go fuck yourself. You haven’t seen my temper and I doubt you want to.
I am not a pussy like your friends Bacerra and Gordon, so move on. You’re a slimy little fuck and your pals are a bunch of cowards. Now want don’t you run along and get Mr. Lewis his hot cocoa before he goes to bed.
If we want to continue this battle than so be it. I am more than happy to kick Prevatt and Claudio i the teeth. I don’t like them and it will bring me joy to do so.
Tell Phil hello and that Youngster from KPC can’t wait to finally meet him.
Dan those fellas are some grade A pussies. They don’t have the balls to run their mouths to my face
I see you put another piece-of-shit article in the Weekly about Ted Moreno (“No Sex! Alleged Lies? Videotape?” Sept. 18). I know you and your little queer art friends have it in for Ted, but this is yellow journalism at its worst. This is just ridiculous. If you and the rest of your little queer buddies are going to make attacks on Ted, well, go ahead.
Sean H. Mill closed his commentary yesterday with the following:
I call upon the city council to staff the meetings with more uniformed officers. Perhaps a larger police presence will quell this bad behavior and send a message to those that can’t seem to control themselves that their bad behavior will no longer be permitted. A night in the Santa Ana jail might just aid in this learning process.
It is absurd to suggest that placing more uniformed police officers in the Council Chambers will encourage public participation. It is absurd to suggest that people who speak out against the council be threatened with jail if they do not adhere to arbitrary and undefined rulse that in and of themselves inhibit freedom of speech. If there is a need for more police officers to protect anyone, it is because of Sean H. Mill’s own threatening and bullying behavior. Behavior, which I might add, that Councilman Sal Tinajero has recognized as a positive example for Santa Ana residents to follow.
But there is was one comment which Sean H. Mill made to me in an email less than a year ago that we left out of our earlier story. His comment is referencing the fact that I happen to be HIV positive.
“… talk shit about that you infected little shit? Go fuck yourself loser.”
The City of Santa Ana has a Code of Ethics and Conduct that applies to elected and appointed officials as well as staff. The ordinance states under Core Values the following:
Attitudes, words, and actions should demonstrate, support, and reflect the following qualities and characteristics for the well being of our community. I treat my fellow officials, staff and the public with patience, courtesy and civility, even when we disagree on what is best for the community.
Councilman Tinajero has already managed to demonstrate his disdain for the City Code of Ethics and Conduct through his own actions of threatening me with physical violence. But really, Sean H. Mill is the best he can come up with for Santa Ana?
Remind me once again, at which high school is this all happening?
Howard,
This is not high school games here. This is serious. Sean Mill is a bully of the worst kind.
He is being brought in for one reason – to bring the Planning Commission in line with the dictates of the SA council.
Tinajero knows the tactics Mill will employ. Can’t you read? Did you see what he has said to Chris and other people, including me?
All of that is true – how can you dismiss these awful, terrible things that he has said and done?
Sean Mill is a bad person – he does not deserve to serve in any official capacity. He is a menace – a problem waiting to happen. Watch.
As expected, the bully Sean Mill was appointed to the Santa Ana Planning Commission last night. But that is the reason he was re-appointed, after resigning the same commission just over one year ago, with no reason given for his resignation.
He is being brought in to bring the SA Planning Commission into line – there have been too many split decision votes for the council’s liking. Sean Mill will assure the council of their rubber-stamp Planning Commission.
Howard is being sarcastic here Junior. Now I wasn’t at the council meeting but did speak with those who were there last night. Did Sean Mill really say he didn’t know he was listed as a planning consultant on the Santa Ana Business Association — a site and an organization launched months ago? Let’s call it was it is — a bold faced lie made by Sean to the people of Santa Ana and to the City Council. Isn’t that a violation of the city’s ethics code?
I’m also told several people spoke against Sean’s appointnment and no one — but him — spoke in favor of his own appointment. That says it all, doesn’t it.
How many violations of the Brown Act were on display at last night’s meeting?
” Did Sean Mill really say he didn’t know he was listed as a planning consultant on the Santa Ana Business Association?”
Dan – He did try to give that impression at first, but then admitted that he did “give the go-ahead” for that.
Here is Sean Mill/Tinajero “tag-team lie” from that meeting.
Tinajero:
“.. he (Sean) has been a part of a blog that promotes the City of Santa Ana and does not deal with the politics surrounding any city ..â€
Sean Mill: “Thank you Sal.â€
Here’s the other lie Sean told last night; he only posts under his own name. He posted a comment using the name of Thomas Gordon’s boss once and Gordon busted him for it at a candidate’s forum.
Did Sal Tinajero really accuse us on running a photo of his father with bullet holes in the picture on this blog? I’d love to see that photo. Because we never ran anything like it. I guess if you can’t win the debate, you can make stuff up.
Tinajero said that it was a “cartoon of his father with a bullet hole in him.”
You can tell from from Sean Mill’s demeanor during his comments before the council that he was pretty shocked to be re-nominated for this position.
I take that as another indication that his appointment to the Planning Commission is a reaction by the council to the many split vote decisions recently returned by that commission.
Mill will be the bully-enforcer to bring the commission to the heel of the Santa Ana Council.
Oh yeah, one more thing …. Mike Harrah’s finger prints are all over this re-shuffling of commission appointments.
“Mike Harrah’s finger prints are all over this re-shuffling of commission appointments.”
OBP did not start before the end of the year, inside the agenda was an item about plan permits for OBP and something about returning it for redesign for the new codes.
I would guess that it will be held up until the development agreement expires.
