The Governator has released his final address to the people of California. Arnold has managed in his seven years in office to destroy the California economy. He has of course had a little help from his Republican Party allies. While many in the GOP want nothing to do with him, he has managed to please most of the business interests that he swore he would not be beholden to.
While Arnold believes that history will be the ultimate judge of the success or failure of his administration, I don’t need time to see the failure. For me the most inexcusable of his actions as governor was to with the stroke of a pen, eliminate all HIV Prevention Education programs funded by the state. With that one act, Arnold is responsible for what will ultimately be thousands of new HIV infections. Infections that could have been prevented, that will now cost the taxpayers millions more in medical costs.
Good bye Arnold.

Arnold was marginal (C-)as an actor and even worse as Governor. Clearly a Democrat in drag, he made a few minor attempts at change in Sacramento, but threw in the towel when the going got tough. No Terminator emerged to do the hard work.
However, lets put blame where it deserves to be. The big spending Democrats have run business out of the state and put California on the edge of bankruptcy. So now the genius voters bring in the big gun, Jerry Brown to clean up the messs. We will see how much they are smiling when they get hit in the pocket books for more taxes to cover the debts. The efficiency of government is in direct ratio to the quality of people elected. Folks, it is clear that we, all of us, have done a pretty sorry job at all levels of government. Now it is time to pay the piper.
Pat,
Your promoting that old myth that Democrats have run business out of the state. Try coming up with something new. Your are correct that it is time to pay the piper. It is time for the tax loop holes that the Republicans in the legislature refuse to let go of to go away. It is time for tax loop hole reform.
So are you on board with that?
He fixed Worker’s Compensation. Arnold tried his best but will probably be remembered for his catchy statements vs his actual policies.
That being said, California went from slightly stupid to full blown retardation with Brown being the successor. While we as citizens know what we want to pass and not pass, Brown will ignore that factor and push for his own agenda and will finish burying CA.
Arnold was a liberal – No wonder you don’t like him.
