CAIR-CA PAC lists 2010 Election Endorsements

The CAIR-California Political Action Committee has released its list of endorsements on political candidates and ballot questions for the 2010 election.  In addition, the CAIR-CA PAC has launched a new website to better inform American-Muslims of positions on political and government issues and candidates.  The CAIR-CA PAC has available at their website easily printable Muslim Voter Guides, with their endorsements organized by county, for Muslim voters to take to the polls.

A primary goal of the organization is to provide news and information to the American-Muslim community in regards to local, state and federal issues.  CAIR-PAC will also conduct polls, recruit volunteers and accept contributions to lobby elected officials on matters of importance to Muslim-Americans throughout California.  The group’s new website is www.CairCaPac.org.

“We delighted to announce of 2010 election endorsements of candidates who represent the best ideals of freedom and fairness for all Americans regardless of faith, ethnicity or country of origin,” said Todd Gallinger, president, CAIR-CA PAC.  “A complete list of endorsed candidates and our positions on the issues facing American-Muslims this election cycle can be found there.  We are especially excited about our Muslim Voter Guides, which should encourage the American-Muslim community to vote and vote smart on election day.”

The endorsements are based on the candidates’ history and stated positions with regards to civil rights, civil liberties, education, the environment, immigration reform and health care reform.  A review of each candidate’s history and interactions with the American-Muslim community also went into account with these endorsements.

A partial list of endorsed candidates includes:

 Governor: Jerry Brown

Lt. Governor: Gavin Newsom

Secretary of State: Debra Bowen

Controller: John Chiang

Treasurer: Bill Locker

Attorney General: Kamala Harris or Steve Cooley

Insurance Commissioner: Dave Jones.

A complete list of endorsements including ballot question selections can be found at www.CairCaPac.org.

  1. CAIR’s list only confirms the candidates I should not vote for. CAIR has a history of aligning with the most radical organizations; some of their former officers are named in a book exposing the Muslim Mafia.
