In the debate last night between the candidates for the 70th Assembly District, my Republican opponent again repeated his insistence our schools don’t need more funding, that women should be deprived of their reproductive freedom, and that our clean air standards should be eliminated.
He also complained that I am supported by labor unions. I am proud of the support I’ve received from several unions, including the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, just as I am proud of the support I’ve received from community leaders such as Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang, veterans groups such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and environmental groups such as the Sierra Club.
But in fact nearly every cent we’ve raised for this campaign has come from many hundreds of small contributions from individual donors who, like you, are deeply concerned about our schools, our environment, our seniors, jobs and our local businesses, and our individual freedoms.
When we started this campaign, the pundits said that we could not win because we would not be able to raise the money to be competitive. We’ve proven them wrong. Now, with just days to go before the election on November 2, we need to raise enough in contributions to make an effective final push and to get out the vote.
If we can do that, we’ll win.
On the question of financial support, Don Wagner has received financial support from a pal of his named Steven Frogue, who is a notorious Holocaust denier.
