Councilman blows a fuse over blog comment and threatens to F&$K me up

It has been a while since a candidate for Orange County elected office threatened a LiberalOC blogger, four years to be exact. Then it was Tan Nguyen, who was challenging Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez in 2006. Nguyen believed that our founder Mike Lawson had been defacing his campaign signs and told Mike that he has a lot of supporters that are “passionate” and he would “hate to see anyone get hurt.”This weekend however, this experience was kicked up a notch by Santa Ana Councilman Sal Tinajero.

As I drove around town this week, I admit I became a bit self-centered. When one worries about their own predicament, one forgets about all that is going on around them and forgets. I then remembered Elie Weitzel’s admonition to us all to “….to give meaning to life and in doing so to overcome the passive, indifferent life.” As I noticed people who continue to hold up signs, I wonder what else could be done.

Jerry Brown releases his first TV campaign ad

At Saturday’s OC Labor Day Celebration in Santa Ana Attorney General Jerry Brown complained; “More people have seen me in a Meg Whitman ad than have seen me in my ads.” But Brown promised the more than 1,000 labor union members, their families, and supporters, “we have the fire power to deliver the truth to the people of California.”

Around Town In South County

Children have begun to go back to school. Some have already started school and some will begin a bit later on this week. I went out around town on Saturday and drove out to the Great Park. I had been driving by it for years and never actually took the time to go back in to check it out. I finally decided to go out with my Son to check it out.
