LOS ANGELES –

Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles) issued the following statement this afternoon regarding budget progress:

“I have said that given the enormity of the deficit and the stark choices available to us in closing it, it’s vital that we take the time to get it right in producing a budget plan that protects Californians from devastating job losses and economically hurtful decisions. Today’s meeting has resulted in significant progress, and I believe we have reached a framework for a potential agreement. We will continue to work throughout the weekend to iron out the details.”

  1. Who believes these politicians?

“… producing a budget plan that protects Californians from devastating job losses and economically hurtful decisions”.

Politicians, do yourself a favor, avoid the humiliation, repeal the 2006 AB32, “The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006”, or the people will do it with a “Yes” vote on Prop 23.

The August 6, 2010 “Los Angeles Business Journal” reports a poll finding a 58% “Yes” vote to suspend AB32, vs. a 38% “No” vote. See http://www.suspendAB32.org “Latest News”.

The anti-jobs, anti-strong economy politicians that voted for it are: Assembly
