Vote for Morgan!

LiberalOC friend Morgan McKean was inspired by the social media efforts of President Barack Obama and became immersed in the world of Twitter, Facebook, LindedIn, YouTube and blogging.  Morgan is now a part of a new reality show on MSN called the Tastemaker and we’re writing this post to ask you to take a minute and vote for Morgan.

Morgan currently has her own The Green Chick blog where she posts regularly on green and holistic living.  You can find it here.

Here’s her bio:

As someone who was known for getting bad marks in citizenship for talking too much in grade school, Morgan McKean considered herself a lucky girl the day she realized that being ‘social’ would play such a huge factor in her career. Falling into the social media trend by accident, being a new mother who missed her days as a budding television producer, Morgan quickly found it to be a vital part of staying connected to her world while she stayed home to raise her son.
As it is with many happy accidents in life, what started out as a hobby soon turned into work as friends, associates and would be clients came asking Morgan how to utilize this fast emerging trend of social media to promote themselves. Pleased with the successes she helped clients gain, Morgan decided to combine her passion for sustainable & holistic living with her increasing skills in social media to launch an online brand under the moniker ‘TheGreenChick.’
Today Morgan uses social media networks to connect with and educate people about ‘going green glamorously’, as well as sharing her own adventures in sustainable & holistic living.

The official website for the show is www.tastemaker.msn.com.  The program pits budding social media mavens against each other in a series of competitions. Each challenge tests in increasing level of social media and viral marketing savvy. After each challenge, a contestant will be eliminated and the winner takes home the $10,000 prize.  Think of the show as “Survivor: Facebook.”

The program is a Web-based reality program and MSN.com gets more than 100 million unique users a month with about 37 million visitors a day.  Frankly speaking, Morgan is the demographic the show is going for — women 25 through 44 who are active on social networks.  There will be 12 episodes in all.
