Orange County Labor Federation to Honor Speaker John A. Pérez, Nick Berardino and other labor and community leaders at its 10th Annual Solidarity Leadership Awards Gala
Over 700 workers, clergy, community groups and elected officials will be coming together at the Anaheim Convention Center, to honor outstanding labor leaders and allies during their 10th annual Solidarity Awards Dinner. The Orange County Labor Federation is composed of over 92 affiliated local unions and represents over 250,000 working men and women in the County of Orange. The celebrations will start with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. to be followed by dinner and award presentations at 7:00 p.m.
This year’s dinner theme is “Revolution†which is what the OCLF has been creating through its efforts to organize new workers and change ‘how politics’ is played in Orange County.
This year’s awards include:
Phil Burton Award for Courage, given to our very own local labor leader and now the 68th Speaker of the CA Assembly, John A. Pérez, who shows how politics really works to empower those who need justice.
César E. Chávez Award, the most coveted award in labor given to the most outstanding labor leader. This year this honor will be given to Nick Berardino, General Manager of the Orange County Employees Association (OCEA), for his leadership and solidarity with workers in Orange County.
