DNC To Hold Mary Bono Mack and Others Accountable

Because I can’t stand rip and read, following is a rewritten Media Advisory from the Democratic National Committee.

On Wednesday, September 9, at 10:30 AM Pacific Time, The Democratic National Committee (DNC) teams up with the Alliance for Retired Americans and AFSCME to hold a press conference. Its purpose is to “call out Rep. Mary Bono Mack and Congressional Republicans on their decades long effort to kill Medicare.”

According to the Media Advisory, “In response to this misinformation, the DNC released a new television ad which begins running today on national and District of Columbia cable stations, and in ten Republican congressional districts, blasting the Republican Party for voting earlier this year to abolish Medicare and for its decades long hostility towards the health care program for our nation’s seniors.  “No Friend to Seniors” is running in the districts of U.S. Reps. Eric Cantor (VA), John Boehner (OH), Lee Terry (NE), Patrick Tiberi (OH), Mary Bono Mack (CA), Don Young (AK), Paul Ryan (WI), Michele Bachmann (MN), Jean Schmidt (OH), and Erik Paulsen (MN).”

They will also unveil two versions of an ad called “Republicans Want to End Medicare.”

A version targeted at Mary Bono Mack is here (requires QuickTime or similar).

One could reasonably infer that there are similarly targeted ads for the other  members of Congress mentioned.

Apparently the DNC is displeased with Republicans distorting the truth or lying about it. Finally.

Congratulations to the DNC. Seriously. Still, I can’t help but wonder. Couldn’t they have started this like a month ago? But I’m glad they’re now in.
