The Minnesota State Supreme Court says Al Franken is the rightful new senator from Minnesota.Â
Minnesota Governor Pawlenty has indicated he will sign the election certificate making it official. Now that Franken has passed this hurdle, the Senate has rules about who is seated limiting Coleman’s options for a federal challenge.
From the story:
The court said that Republican Norm Coleman didn’t prove that a lower court made mistakes requiring a rehearing of the case. Coleman had asked the court to order thousands of rejected absentee ballots counted. He had hoped the counting would allow him to overcome Franken’s 312-vote lead.
I, for one, am looking forward to watching Bill O’Reilly’s head explode.
And this just in: Norm Coleman concedes. The ghost of Paul Wellstone smiles.
