I’ve known Barbara Boxer for a long time. She’s one of my favorite Democrats: Somebody who proudly tells you where she stands and what she believes in.
In Louisiana, we call that showing some spine — and that goes a long ways down here. Barbara doesn’t back down, and she’s not afraid to stand on her own sometimes, even when it’s not very popular.
But you and I know that makes her a target. And with the right-wing looking for a big victory in 2010 to try and stem the Democratic tide, there’s nobody they’d want to defeat more than Barbara Boxer.
We can’t let that happen.
On June 12th, I’m hosting an event at my home here in New Orleans to honor Barbara Boxer and help raise money for her 2010 re-election campaign.

We know Barbara’s going to be a top target in 2010, because she’s not afraid to show some spine and stand up to the special interests.
