New York Governor David Patterson to Call for Gay Marriage Legislation

I hope Governor Arnold is paying attention to the leadership of New York Governor David Patterson who is working towards providing equal rights to all New Yorkers.  Gov. Patterson will ask the New York State Legislature to pass legislation making Gay Marriage legal in New York, one of the nation’s most populous states.

New York already will recognize gay marriages performed in states where its legal, but unlike our current governor who vetoed similiar legislation from the California legislature, Governor Patterson is telling New York lawmakers if they pass a bill, he will sign it.  I’m starting to feel there’s a domino effect at play here and at some point, the US Supreme Court will have to get involved to decide if marriage is a right for everyone or if there’s a separate class of individuals.
