Sacramento– TheLiberalOC has learned from sources inside Assemblyman Chuck DeVore’s U.S. Senate Campaign that he has decided to withdraw from the race

to challenge Senator Barbara Boxer in 2010.

According to a staffer who spoke anonymously because she was not authorized to speak on behalf of the campaign; after learning of a post Tuesday afternoon on the San Jose Mercury News website, that former HP CEO Carly Fiorina said she is “seriously considering” challenging Senator Barbara Boxer in 2010, DeVore went “Nuclear.”

After ranting uncontrollably for about two hours, staff were able to slip some hemp oil into his water to calm him down. Advisers were then able to convince him that while he clearly couldn’t raise the millions of dollars that Fiorina could dump into her campaign, all was not lost.

They argued that since Steve Poizner is stepping down from his position as Insurance Commissioner to run for Governor he could probably make a strong bid for that office. Advisers described a gleeful Chuck when they told him “the Insurance Commissioner is a ‘Nanny State’ official, what better way to control the Nanny State than from the top of the agency controlling ‘Nanny State’ regulations.”

divx starting out in the evening When asked for a comment about his departure from the race, Senator Boxer said; “I’m sorry I won’t have the opportunity to face off against such a formidable opponent in 2010. I am confident however that no matter what ham sandwich runs against Chuck in the fall of 2010, I will enjoy watching him get his ass kicked all across the state.”
