Chop at the Top Rally

BREAKING NEWS: Almost 1,000 county workers are storming the Board of Supervisor’s Fifth Floor offices to advocate that the Boad cut waste, including retired management extra help, before cutting jobs.

Chanting “Chop at the Top,” county workers understand that cuts may be needed, but wasteful and extravagent spending by the Board and Management must go first. Here is the link to the Orange County Register web story.

While upstairs, there was a bit of a confrontation with Board Chairman Moorlach’s Chief of Staff Mario Mainero. Seems that he, and supposedly the rest of the Board offices, was none to happy that OCEA exposed their redecorating project for what it was, “not a security project.” They have refused to give OCEA a copy of the alleged citation they got from the City of Santa Ana that necessitated the remodel of their lobby.

They were also annoyed that OCEA has disclosed that while the Board sues to reverse Sheriff Deputy pensions and cut jobs over the holidays, the Supes. are lining their pockets with an 8% 401K plan that they do not pay for. “Berardino told the workers: “They want to focus the public’s attention on the costs of services provided out the front door, while they line their pockets and sneak out the back door.”

  1. I would like Mario Mainero, actually Herr Morlach, to explain how the granite countertops and stainless steel kitchen appliances address their supposed citation from the City of Santa Ana.

  2. I will be homeless in a few months, but who cares about me, as long as the BOS have their stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops.
