Fires burning in Orange County

Orange County Wildfires

It’s hot, dry, and very windy here in Orange County this weekend. Fires in Montecito and Sylmar north of us. Palos Verdes west of us.

And now Brea and Corona/Yorba Linda in North Orange County. Here are the details as best as I know them.

Brea fire – northeast of the city near Valencia and Carbon Canyon. Generally north of the new tract of homes spreading quickly on the Olinda Landfill.

Corona/Yorba Linda – north of the 91 freeway at Green River exit. Burning homes in the neighborhood near Green River Golf Course and Santa Ana River. Moving west into Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills area.

Evacuation centers are open at Corona High School and Esperanza High School.

UPDATE – Brea fire has moved west. It is now in the hills above Brea-Olinda High School just east of the 57 Freeway.
