New Washington Post/ABC Poll Puts Obama Up by 9 Points

Read it and weep Republicans.

The poll cites two factors in Obama’s favor, one that’s mixed and two in Mccain’s favor. The ones in Obama’s favor is the cell phone factor crowd not reached by polls; If those voters come out, it could be a 2 or 3 point advantage for Obama.  The huge GOTV drive by Obama coupled with major league voter registration brought on by the protracted Democratic Primary battle also helps Obama.

McCain gets points for GOP voter suppression tactics and that fact that some states have no voter paper trail to combat voter fraud/machine hacking.

I also believe the terrible interview performance by Sarah Palin on CBS is accelerating views that we’ve known for awhile; she’s not fit to hold high office.  Her actual quotes make Ms. Teen South Carolina look downright bright.

“As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska.”

“Not necessarily this, as it’s been proposed, has to pass or we’re going to find ourselves in another Great Depression. But, there has got to be action – bipartisan effort – Congress not pointing fingers at one another but finding the solution to this, taking action…”

Having claimed that Mr McCain, the Republican’s presidential candidate, had a strong record of supporting more financial regulation during his 26 years in the Senate, she could not name one example and resorted to saying: “I’ll try to find you some, and I’ll bring them to you.”
