Following up on Dan’s post, there is also this to consider. The criticism of Sarah Palin, while valid, is mistaken. Mind you, I agree with it but that doesn’t make it any better. I’m bored with hearing about the pious matriarch whose daughter’s behavior runs directly in conflict with the mom. Because it all misses the point. I am prepared to stipulate that she, her family and her life story are the angelic paragons of virtue that her supporters proclaim them (wrongly) to be.
So what?!
Sarah Palin is totally wrong on the issues.
For the list below, I’ve borrowed heavily from a post at Daily Kos which appears to be well annotated to back up the claims. Also, I do not presume to suggest this list is by any means comprehensive. I’ve also borrowed from another post. Do check out both those links. There’s a lot more there.
Advocated AGAINST mine safety / pollution control
Has an ANTI-ENVIRONMENT RECORD and is on the wrong side of global warming and doesn’t think polar bears should be listed as endangered because it interferes with her drilling plans
Against sex education – abstinence only. (PS-how’s that working for you?)
Believes Creationism should be taught in science classes
Opposed universal health care and stem cell research
Favors censoring library books
Believes global warming is not man-made and is suing to lift protected status for polar bears.
Cut by 20% state funding intended to help unwed mothers.
Supports denying benefits to same-sex couples – here and here
Opposed expanding hate crime laws because “all heinous crime is based on hate.”
The above notwithstanding, and somewhat off point, this is my favorite
You have just proven that she is not an “angelic paragon of virtue”
