Garden Grove City Council candidate Robin Marcario will be hosting an Ice Cream Social and Campaign Fundraiser at the Armstrong Barn at 12421 Loraleen St. this Saturday, September 6, from 3-4:30 p.m. Meet and discuss local issues with Robin and enjoy the famous Ann Winchell’s home-made cake and ice cream.
Marcario, the chairperson for the Central Garden Grove Neighborhood Association, and former Chairperson of the Garden Grove Traffic Commission, is a long-time active leader in Garden Grove. Â Through her leadership, in cooperation with several community activist organizations, Marcario was instrumental in preventing Walmart from building a superstore in the city.
She is a member of various groups including the League of Women Voters, OCTA Citizens Action Committee, Kiwanis International, Downtown Garden Grove Business Association, and a docent for the Garden Grove Historical Society. Marcario has attended almost every city council meeting for the past five years and is well-known and well supported in the community.
Marcario is currently a bilingual (Spanish) substitute teacher and has been teaching since 1997 in Garden Grove.
