WDYT: How Was Hillary’s Speech?

“Whether you voted for me, or voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose,” Mrs. Clinton said, beaming as the convention hall burst into applause. “And you havent worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last eight years, to suffer through more failed leadership.”

She added, “No way, no how, no McCain.”

Hillary Clinton spoke last night. She gave a speech to the Democratic National Convention that I doubt anyone could ever forget. In clear terms, she made the case for Barack Obama.

But still, was it enough? Was it enough to convince those of her supporters that still have doubts about Obama that it’s OK to vote for him now? Was it enough for those of her detractors that have questioned her sincerity for so long that she really does want Democrats to win? Was it enough to finally reunite this party behind a common purpose?

Do you think Hillary Clinton’s speech last night hit the perfect note? Hopefully, Chris & Misha will provide us with more insight from Denver on the highlight from last night. Otherwise, chat away this morning. 🙂

  1. I was a staunch Hillary supporter. I\’m still waiting for some sign that she will play a major role in the Obama administration. That said, I am having a really hard time understanding how any Hillary supporter could now be saying “I’m not sure about Obama. I\’m undecided who I will vote for.” If any Hillary supporter would actually consider voting for McCain, they shouldn’t be allowed to vote at all. The best support anyone could give Hillary now would be to support and vote Democratic, vote Obama.

  2. I agree with Christine; and with the exception of health care, Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama are very close in their policy proposals.

This whole issue seems to be overplayed in the corporate media, but it’s no surprise since they so badly want McSame to win. And if he does, they will take the same hands-off approach that they did with Bush,. and we will surely have another disastrous administration and none of the numerous misdeeds from this administration with ever see light of day.

    Excellent, Smithers.

  3. Senator Clinton did an amazing job and had some great things to say, she is right and we should heed her warnings, No way, no how, No McCain.

Thank you Hillary for showing us what it means to be a class act and how to turn a “loss” into a huge win for us all!
