As my mouse moves from political blog to political blog, I came across this interesting tidbit on Allan Bartlett’s Powder Blue Report. At a recent BBQ for the CRA, of which Allan was recently elected, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher made an appearance and a speech. Here’s what Allan posted:
On a releated note, on Saturday the CRA had a chance to get together for a BBQ and Congressman Rohrabacher gave a stirring speech about what has been happening in DC. He cracked back big time on John McCain, calling him “a political whore”. He said he will not endorse the GOP nominee unless he promises to give Ramos & Compean clemency

The Ramos and Compean case has been a conservative and anti-illegal immigrant sticking point that extends to the presidential race now. The OC Register has more about the case here.
But I’m not sure who comes off worse here: McCain on Crazy Dana? So much for Ronald Reagan’s commandment, “thou shall not speak ill of fellow Republicans.” McCain is the nominee and Dana is facing his most serious challenge in years when Democratic turnout will be a record-setting event for all those young people voting for Obama and against Prop. 8.Â
Rep Rohrbacher is a congressman. If he thinks the law is wrong, he should be trying to change the law.
The BlogWhoring of cross posts to OJ must stop. Please refrain from hyping your posts over here. I will delete them.
Dan, if that is directed at me… I’m going to call you. When are you going to figure out it happens automatically when we post something that links to you? I don’t care if you delete the stupid link, but stop accusing me of “blogwhoring” whatever the hell that is! You should be glad actually that I’m always linking to your stuff.
Vern — I could care less who links to our stuff. Red County links to us all the time and we don’t get this little promos for their posts. If its happening automatically, I’d appreciate it if someone on your end kindly turns it off. You have an OJ launchpad to the immediate right hand side of the page. Isn’t that enough?
I agree. I’ll try to find out how it happens. I told you I wasn’t going to put links in the comments here, and when I say I’m not going to do something I don’t do it, and I don’t like being accused of things I don’t do.
It is a great story though and you helped inspire it. You should check it out.
