This story in yesterday’s LA Times provided a fascinating relevation on the media coverage being received by both major party presidential candidates.
According to the study, the mainstream media has been much harder on Barack Obama.
from the story: The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, where researchers have tracked network news content for two decades, found that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Obama than on Republican John McCain during the first six weeks of the general-election campaign.
Robert Lichter, the center’s director who managed this survey and who’s his previous studies were embraced by right wingers, said “This information should blow away this silly assumption that more coverage is always better coverage,” he said.
It should be sobering to the Fox News set that the same researcher has found that the notion of liberal media bias is a myth.
