I had the opportunity to view a screening of the blockbuster film, “The Dark Knight” on the Warner Brothers studio lot in Burbank last night. It’s easily the best flick of the summer (including “Iron Man” and Wall-E”), and if your a parent with a Batman fan under the age of 9, do not send your kid to see this. Dark and scary. And Heath Ledger’s performance (paging Oscar) will haunt your dreams in the weeks ahead.
There was a surprising political cameo in the film. It occurs during a scene when the Joker invades Bruce Wayne’s Penthouse political fundraiser for Harvey Dent. The Joker flashes a knife towards an older gentlemen who says “we’re not afraid of punks like you.”
The identity of the gentleman after the jump.
US Senator Pat Leahy, showing the Joker a little backbone.
Seriously, go see this, but leave the little ones at home.
I agree, outstanding movie. And Pat Leahy is surprisingly good.
Ledger is amazing!
Shouldn’t the good Senator be working with his fellow Vermont legislators to find a solution to their problem of rampant child abuse in their state instead of fishing for cameos in Hollywood?
Apparently he’s not scared of “punks” like the Joker, but watch out for those child molesters. They’re dangerous you know?
Pathetic.
Better Pat than Larry Craig, who complained the oil companies jerking us around by the gas nozzles. Somehow, Craig should avoid the terms “jerk” and “nozzles” when he takes a (wide) stance on issues.
LOL
As off-topic as your comment was, you still made me laugh Dan. Thanks 😀
NP; How’s that Mark Foley doing in Retirement?
