CNN reports for the second time in two days, John McCain has referred to current events on energy usage in “Czechoslovakia.â€Â Previously, he made references to Vladmir Putin, the leader of Germany. Czechosolvakia officially ceased to exist in January 1993 and as Senator, McCain has met with leaders of both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Putin, of course, is Russian, but I’m sure McCain will call him a Soviet at some point.
Fred Thomson kept referencing the Soviet Union, now McCain can’t keep this little detail straight.
Not a big deal! There likely are a lot of folks in East Europe who refer to the location as Czechoslovakia.
