BREAKING: Michele Martinez Announces Campaign for Santa Ana Mayor

Hot off the presses! Here’s an important announcement from Santa Ana Council Member Michele Martinez:

Today, I am officially announcing my candidacy for Mayor of Santa Ana.

This decision is one that I’ve considered very carefully and thoroughly. I am running for Mayor because Santa Ana deserves a Mayor who will work FOR ALL OF US.

I believe in Santa Ana, more importantly, I believe together we can bring about the change we believe in for Santa Ana.

As many of you know, I was elected to the Santa Ana City council in November of 2006, and in my role as a council member, I have earned a reputation for seeing that the concerns of my constituents are addressed no matter how large or how small. I have worked hard to earn my constituents trust and respect and I will continue to do so as Mayor. I pledge to create a new, positive city hall, a city where all people from all perspectives feel respected and get the services they deserve. We can make this a better city for all of us and bring hope and inspiration to our neighbors and neighborhoods that have been left behind.

I am asking you to move away from the past, and look to the future. I am urging you not to be afraid of disturbing the status quo. This job is not for one person; it’s a job for a community. I would like to leave you with the following quote from Margaret Mead “A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”. So let’s work together to improve this city we love.

“Santa Ana’s best days are yet to come”

Sincerely,
Michele Martinez
Candidate for Mayor of Santa Ana 2008

  1. I am urging you not to be afraid of disturbing the status quo.

For a good laugh, take a look at her voting record and compare it to that of one Mayor Miguel Pulido. Pulido has publicly aspired to higher office and the ‘rift’ between he and Martinez is just wagging the dog. She’s not disturbing the status quo, she is the status quo. How then can she be an agent for change?

The only vote for Mayor in Santa Ana that guarantees change for the better is one for Thomas Gordon.

    SMS

  2. Even is Thomas, whom I like, were to overcome the large Democratic numbers, a second Republican on the Council still wouldn’t have the votes needed to affect “change for the better.”

Michelle’s run is premature for her experience and Pulido still comes out ahead in a three way race. If Art Pedroza were to run, as he’s promised before, his previous criticisms of the Santa Ana “Clowncil” would marginalize him as a candidate and a council member if he was elected.

A better option for Thomas is to find a slate of candidates to run with to oust those council members up for re-election. With the exception of Janet Nguyen’s first district election, the OJ’s track record on candidates and ballot measures isn’t significant.

  3. We got your back Michele dont waste your time trying to convince a small crowd of loosers who post and read this junk info

  4. That would be “losers” and Truth, I actually agree with you in one respect that rank-and-file voters don’t read the blogs as much as we might think they do. I like Michelle as a candidate; I just think she needs more seasoning.

  5. The truth in Russian language is Pravda and news the Izvestia. We use to say that there is no Izvestia in Pravda and no Pravda in Izvestia.

    Same here and OJ.

However there is old saying: When two are fighting the third one is benefiting. So the way I see it — Gordon is fighting with Michele and Michele with Gordon.

The Mayor Pulido is catalyst and fuel to fight.

So after the dust settles I will be the Mayor by margin of 5 votes.
    -Stanley Fiala

PS. Print it or not but that is real “pravda”!… frankly I do not give a s@#% about the people who are pathological liars like the one who run this blog and OJ.

  6. Ah but Fiala does live on your site; try accessing your blog from a Blackberry or smart phone and you get a George Carlin quote; no juice. I believe that’s Fiala’s doing.

  7. Dan-
I remember a woman who ran for Anaheim City Council and came in 7th out of 11 candidates. Folks like you poo-pooed her lack of experience and seasoning. They said it just wasn’t her turn. I’m glad she didn’t wait for their permission before winning a seat in Congress.
And she had this savvy younger sister who had never been elected to anything. She defeated two longtime elected officials in a tough Democratic primary who thought that they didn’t have to work as hard because voters owed them something.
Naysayers will always claim it’s not your time. Voters recognize hard work. And nobody is going to hand you power, you just have to take it.
So, if Michele is willing to work hard and risk taking on the corrupt Pulido machine, then I say go for it!

  8. More power to her; if she can raise money and build a platform of issues to run on, then fine. All I know is she hasn’t communicated anything beyond she’s running for mayor.

  9. “Ah but Fiala does live on your site; try accessing your blog from a Blackberry or smart phone and you get a George Carlin quote; no juice. I believe that’s Fiala’s doing.”

    Attn, Chmielewski and Nelson,

When George Carlin died, you both cried that we have lost real hero just to show your phony intellectualism. Yet you both are such moron mongoloids that you do not even begin to understand concept of a profanity and satire. Therefore, you are both hit and run intellectual midgets who will attack a person in your blogs and than will not allow him to respond.
Real Gentlemen?… Huh?…. But now you can legally marry each other.

Print it or not but that is “pravda”!…
Your ban only reassures me that I am cutting close to the bone.

  10. Stanley —
I’m already married. But thanks for the inquiry.

Not allowing you to respond has more to do with your malicious online behavior than anything you say.

  11. “your malicious online behavior”…?

Are you referring to Art Pedroza or Stanley Fiala?… I got lost Chmielewski.

George Carlin was arrested, so was Niccolò Machiavelli and virtually everyone who had any influence on the society,…. silenced by the opposition. So your arrests are still coming up once your, mostly socialistic plagiarized, drivel starts threatening the ruling class….. I do not believe that you can reach such influence.

    No more beating!…. Hmmm?

You are amazing man(?) Nelson. You are trying to portray yourself as the supper intellectual of the southland yet you resort to such cheap pravda… I would expect such behavior from stupid blonde or fatso… but you?

In 2004, about two month before the election, I have voluntarily disclosed this incident to the OC Register. In spite of it, I have received 10,000 votes 20% against Mayor Pulido. So it is clear that my constituency does not share your socialistic outlook on the case.

Although there is pravda in izvestia there is no izvestia in pravda.

However, your repetitive behavior my signal certain level of a retardation. So go back to your piano and practice Antonín Dvořák 9th symphony in both E flat and E minor.

  12. Dan,
You make some very interesting points regarding Michele run for Mayor. In part, I agree Michele is relatively raw to the wolrd of politics, but consider, this is really a free ride for Michele. She only has to gain from this election as she makes attempts to get more name ID.
It may be she does not defeat the mayor, but now her name will resound, should she decide to run again for Mayor in the near future.
There are strong rumors, the Mayor will not be seeking reelection soon, this may be an good chance for Michele to run again with now more tenure under her belt. I believe this is a smart calculated move for her.

Regarding Thomas Gordon, who I hold very dearly, I simply do not think he will be a viable candidate until he raises the money. Like, Art Pedroza, and other candidates, those have not raised money do not show well in the election. It is just simple politics. I think in order for Thomas to be a viable candidate, he is going to have to search for the dough, otherwise, he hurts any other candidates chance, as he will still receive votes from residents who feel disenfranchised from our current mayor, not not enough to take over the top.

I suggest Thomas and Michele get together and choose one candidate to run. This may be there only chance!

  13. Michele has some heavy hitters behind her. She has been talking about this run for mayor for at least 3 years now while cultivating relationships with some VERY deep pockets. Like her or not, she may not be a true factor in the upcoming election, but she will have the entire hispanic community behind her and she is already capable of raising $.
Very strategic indeed by putting up some signs and gaining some name recognition now.
