OC Sheriff Candidates Narrowed to Two

Acting Sheriff Jack Anderson is out of the running to replace retired Sheriff Mike Carona who resigned earlier this year to fight federal corruption indictments.

Today the Orange County Board of Supervisors cut the list of final candidates down to former LA Sheriff’s Department division chief and Santa Ana Chief Paul Walters.

Peggy Lowe over at Total Buzz has further details.

According to Peggy, Hutchens received support of all Supervisors other than Norby and Walters all but Moorlach. Not surprised that Moorlach and Norby are on opposite sides of this issue. How this plays out will be determined at the Board Meeting June 17th.

  1. I’m sorry to say that Jack Anderson didn’t make the cut; I found him completely different than I expected. I believe he would be an effective catalyst for change in the department that needs a dramatical overhaul at all levels.
