OK, this whole campaign has turned into a mess. Janet Nguyen may just end up with a free ride to reelection just at a time when she least deserves it. Van Tran should be embarassed that he ever endorsed Dina Nguyen. And now, we have sufficient evidence to show us that Hoa Van Tran has squandered his support from OC Democrats by effectively going AWOL when his campaign began to go up in flames.
And in the mean time, it’s hurt me to see our community here at TheLiberalOC.com become embroiled in the entire mess that this race has become. So you know what? I’ve had it with this First Supe race.
I’ve had it with the meaningless melodrama that the Paul Lucas sideshow has become. I’ve had it with innocent folks being unnecessarily being caught up in the drama of it all. I’ve had it with the lack of civility from commenters on both sides of this dispute. And above all else, I’ve had it with the Hoa Van Tran campaign bringing down the entire Democratic Party simply because it can’t get its act together.
So now, I have no other choice. I’m done with everything First Supe. I may actually live in the district, but that doesn’t mean I must pay attention to all this ado about nothing. From now on, I’ll do my best to act like this race isn’t even happening. If the Hoa supporters here want to continue living in denial as Hoa’s campaign continues to implode, that’s their problem… Not mine. And if some folks here want to continue beating this dead horse that is the Hoa campaign while good Democrats running in other local races continue to be ignored, then who am I to stop them?
I’m just fed up with the fiasco that this entire situation has become, so at this point I guess the only thing I have left to do to make an impact for the better is by being a good example to this community… And I really think that this means I need to get out of this unnecessary drama and stay out of it for good.
So who’s with me here? Would you rather like for us to talk about how Democrats can win locally? Would you rather like for us to talk about how we can help good Democrats like Loretta Sanchez and Debbie Cook rather than obsess over how horribly wrecked Hoa’s campaign has become? OK, then… This is your community as much as it’s mine. We can choose to talk about what we want to talk about.
Alright, so do we have it settled? If tired of the 1st District drama, then you can rest assured that you won’t get any more of that from me. I’m done with it, and I’m ready to move on just as much as you are. Great, so let’s get back to talking about the real, important stuff… 😉
Well, as you know, this is the reason I don’t post. There is a lot of “red meat” out there as in substantive things to write about and much of it is being ignored. And to top it off, a lot of the really good stuff is something I really shouldn’t write about or comment on because of Gary’s Campaign.

The OC Register is talking about how negative the Sidhu/Walters primary has become. You know why it’s so nasty? Because once someone wins the primary they are pretty confident they will win the election.
Here’s a quote from it …
“It’s good theater,” said Matt Cunningham online editor of the RedCounty.com blog. “I can’t remember a local legislative race that went this negative, this early.”
I personally would love to see more people beating up on Republicans, like say Dana who says global warming doesn’t exist or Arnold, who wants to do more “borrow and spend” for the budget woes.

You know, I was just thinking about that. Look at the complete insanity on the GOP side. Why are we ignoring that to eat each other alive over a failed Supervisorial campaign? That’s why I felt the need to put this up.
And btw, look out for a fun SD 33 post coming up today. Maybe some of the folks in this community can’t look outside Hoa-Janet-Dina-Paul-Edgardo Land, but I prefer to talk about the issues affecting the real world. 🙂

I just think this community that is TheLiberalOC.com is too important to be lost over needless melodrama. That’s why I’m ready to take responsibility for my own actions and begin returning focus on what matters. And for me, that means helping local Democrats, discussing important ballot initiatives, and bringing up important local, state, & federal issues that we shouldn’t ignore.
While I agree with you in that this blog has done nothing to support our other good democrats running for office, I have been disgusted and disappointed with the attacks against the hoa campaign, including all the racial profiling of the campaign’s volunteers ( it really seems like many of the party activists would much rather have a racist republican in office., a little too ironiic, don’t you think, instead of fully backing the only democrat in the race.) Last time the party was fully involved in the sup race, Tom Umberg lost, and no one asked the Democratic Party of Orange County why a large diverse percentage of the electorate was ignored, believe me….they all had a rude awakening. They should have learned a lesson, but it seems that the party would much rather focus on fundrasing for their salaries than actually investing in one of their own.
