200,000 Visitors in Fewer Than 2 Years!

Gila posted several days ago about TheLiberalOC having its best month ever (February ’08) in terms of visitors.

At some point this afternoon, I’m guessing between 1 pm and 3 pm, We will reach another milestone, 200,000 total visitors since Mike Lawson launched this blog on April 26, 2006.

We appreciate the support and commentary our readers have given us. I think that is why you all keep coming back.

Our Blog Team members are all volunteers, who are committed to discussing progressive and liberal ideals with anyone willing to have that discussion. We enjoy the debate and look forward to that continued debate in the future.

Thanks Mike for giving “Liberals” a place to be heard.

Thanks to all of our readers, including Chuck DeVore and Matt Cunningham on the “Conservative” blogs as well as Steven Greenhut at the OC Register, for your support and participation in our debates! Without all of you, this wouldn’t be nearly as much fun.

    Site Meter tracks page views and visits. You may also have heard the term “hits”. When someone comes to your site, they generate a “hit” for every piece of content that is sent to their computer. Viewing a single web site page would generate one hit for the page and one hit for every individual graphics file that was on the page. A single page could easily generate a dozen or more hits. When you are browsing a site, every time you follow a link, it is treated as a single “page view”. Site Meter defines a “visit” as a series of page views by one person with no more than 30 minutes in between page views.

  4. Ouch. A rare terminology mix-up on my part. Hey, smart people can be ditzy too. I mean I *am* blonde!

    I indeed did mean visits. Sorry about that. So it’s 200,000 visits.. Congratulations! It’s quite an accomplishment! I’m glad to be a new contributor to the site, even if I should have started two years ago when I met you guys at DL. But hey… different race, different space. I’m here now. 🙂
